Ventana Sur is the most important market for audiovisual content in Latin America, and it is a must in the schedule of distributors and buyers from the international industry.
Since 2009 the event was organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) in coordination with the Marché du Film – Cannes Film Festival and for the 2024 edition, the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU) joined in to organize the market in Uruguay for the first time.
In 2025, Ventana Sur returns to the Argentine coast. It will take place from December 1st to 5th in Buenos Aires, marking a new chapter with a refreshed brand and updated sections. This special edition will feature the participation of the region’s top keynote speakers and the industry’s most influential buyers, guaranteeing an unparalleled level of excellence and opportunities.
Traditional sections such as VS Animation! and the fantastic and horror genre section, VS Fantastic, are transformed and will be presented with an updated image, reflecting the dynamism and evolution of the sector. Furthermore, the VS Tech section will not only showcase the latest in video games but will also offer content on short-form and vertical video, along with new technologies like AI, VFX, and VR.
Ventana Sur brings together the different players in the audiovisual industry to promote the co-production, financing and international distribution of Latin American content.
The event welcomes 2000 accredited participants every year, including more than 150 buyers and sellers from all five continents, as well as representatives from the most important networks and international platforms. At the market, they can meet with content producers at business conferences, pitching sessions and one-on-one meetings; they also have access to roundtables, specific actions for producers with projects in development, workshops, talks, and conferences about current topics, with a vision for the future.
