HUMANS + AI: IN ACTION – 2ND EDITION

Following a successful first edition in 2025, VS TECH presents the second edition of Humans + AI: In Action, an open call for audiovisual works exploring new forms of creation through collaboration between artificial intelligence and human creativity.
We are looking for projects in which AI serves as a tool to expand the expressive, production, and aesthetic possibilities of audiovisual language, while keeping human creative teams at the heart of the process.
The aim is not to reward the degree of automation of a work, but rather the quality, originality, and innovation of the collaboration between people and generative artificial intelligence technologies.
What types of works are eligible?
The call is open to:
- Short films
- Vertical microdrama
- Music videos
- Hybrid projects
- Video art and experimental works
- Immersive cinema
- Pilots or short series episodes
- Fashion films
Artificial intelligence may have been used at different stages of the creative or technical process, including screenwriting, storyboarding, visual development, image and video generation or editing, animation, VFX, virtual production, digital characters, editing, post-production, sound, music, dubbing, translation, localization, voice cloning, and workflow automation, among other possibilities.
Works must be Ibero-American productions or have a majority Ibero-American participation (+51%).
In addition, each project must include a human team covering at least three creative or technical roles.
Requirements
- Works must have been completed from July 2025 onwards (works completed before this date will not be accepted).
- Maximum running time of 4 minutes, including titles and credits.
- Digital screening file in .mp4 format.
- English subtitles are mandatory.Availability for an in-person screening during Ventana Sur 2026.
- An explanation of how AI was used in the creative or technical process.
- A description of the human contribution to the development of the work.
Selection
Up to 10 works will be selected for the official Humans + AI: In Action – 2nd Edition screening, which will take place in person during VS TECH, as part of Ventana Sur 2026, to be held from November 30 to December 4 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Special consideration will be given to artistic and narrative quality, originality, meaningful and innovative use of AI, the integration of human creativity and technology, and the work’s potential to bring new perspectives to the Latin American audiovisual industry.
Each content creator or production company selected to participate in the “Humans + AI: In Action – 2nd Edition” showcase, will receive up to two accreditations to attend Ventana Sur 2026, taking place in Montevideo, Uruguay.
