VS GUIONES is Ventana Sur Río de la Plata’s dedicated space for supporting and promoting emerging Latin American screenwriters — working on their first or second feature films — and their projects, creating opportunities for networking, exchange, and connections with different sectors of the audiovisual industry.
For this year’s edition, taking place from November 30 to December 4, 2026, VS Guiones will feature a selection of screenplays from across Ibero-America. Projects will be selected by a curatorial committee from submissions put forward by:
- Ibero-American film institutes: each institute was invited to propose screenplays selected through calls for projects or awards granted in 2025 or 2026.
- Partner residencies and labs: for this edition, VS Guiones has partnered with some of the leading specialized residencies and labs: Alga (Chile), Cina Cina (Uruguay), FRAPA (Brazil), Residencia de Cine de Extremadura (Spain), and Tres Puertos (a traveling lab in Latin America).
- We will also welcome the participation of the Andalusian delegation, with the support of MAFIZ – Málaga Film Festival.
Selected participants will have access to:
- Personalized mentoring sessions with renowned Argentine screenwriters and directors Florencia Percia and Mariana Wainstein.
- Individual advisory sessions focused on the internationalization of each project, led by Erick González (Director of Australab and independent consultant).
- A pitching session open to Ventana Sur accredited attendees, where participants will have the opportunity to present their projects to key industry professionals and a professional jury, which will grant the awards corresponding to the section.
The section will also offer activities open to all accredited attendees, including:
- Masterclasses.
- Thematic panels featuring leading industry professionals.
- Spaces for dialogue and exchange.
