Ventana Sur – FANTASTIC
VS Fantastic! is the section dedicated to genre cinema —horror, science fiction, fantasy, and their hybrid forms— within Ventana Sur, the most important audiovisual market in Latin America, organized by ACAU, INCAA, and the Marché du Film. The 2026 edition will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay, from November 30 to December 4.
The section includes VS Fantastic LAB (projects in development, featuring pitching sessions, mentorships, and one-to-one meetings), VS Fantastic Screening (feature films in advanced post-production), conferences, industry panels, and networking spaces.
VS Fantastic serves as a permanent bridge between creation and industry within Ibero-American genre cinema, connecting directors and producers with the sector’s leading international players: festivals, labs, sales agents, and industry platforms. Its goal is to foster strategic alliances that support project development and expand opportunities for financing, co-production, and international circulation.
Aimed at directors, producers, and professionals with Ibero-American genre projects or films in development or final stages.

VENTANA SUR – FANTASTIC LAB
VS Fantastic LAB is Ventana Sur’s open call for genre projects — horror, science fiction, and fantasy — in development. It invites Ibero-American producers and filmmakers to present their projects to a jury and industry professionals through pitch sessions, specialized mentorships, and one-to-one meetings.
The goal is for selected projects to build strategic alliances and expand their opportunities for international circulation and co-production, moving forward toward production.
Open call: 3 de august
Submission deadline: 7 de september
Requirements
● Genre projects: horror, science fiction, fantasy, and combinations with suspense, action, crime, or black comedy, among others.
● Feature films with majority or minority production from an Ibero-American country, including Italy.
● At least 30% of the budget secured, supported by letters of commitment and a financial plan. This requirement is mandatory.
● Projects previously selected in past editions of Ventana Sur – Fantastic! will not be accepted.
Benefits for selected projects
● Complimentary accreditation for two representatives (director and producer).
● Participation in pitching sessions, mentorships, and industry meeting tables.

VS Fantastic! Screening is Ventana Sur’s section dedicated to genre feature films in post-production. Selected films are presented in exclusive screenings before international industry professionals: festival programmers, sales agents, and distributors.
Open call: 3 de august
Screener submission deadline: 14 de september
Requirements
- Latin American fiction feature films in the fantasy, horror, thriller, or science fiction genres.
- Post-production stage or upcoming premiere.
- Burned-in English subtitles.
- Films previously registered in past editions of Fantastic! Screening will not be accepted.
- There is no submission fee.
Benefits for selected films
- Exclusive screening before accredited market professionals.
- Complimentary accreditation for two representatives (director and/or producer).
- Participation in meeting tables and sessions with international festivals and platforms.
