Presentation
Ventana Sur Docs is the section of Ventana Sur dedicated to promoting Latin American documentaries in the international market. Aimed at industry professionals, creators, producers, sales agents, distributors, festivals, and platforms, offers activities that include pitching or projects in development stage and work in progress, one-to-one meetings, panels with experts on topics related to documentaries.
Ventana Sur Docs seeks to promote the best of upcoming Latin American documentary cinema and amplify its many forms.
Feature-length documentary in development
Call for projects in development to participate in the Pitch section to be held as part of Ventana Sur Río de la Plata between November 30th and December 4th 2026 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Requirements
- The call is aimed at feature-length documentary projects in development.
- Only Latin American feature-length documentaries or co-productions with majority Latin American production may be registered.
- Priority will be given to projects open to international co-producers.
How to register your project?
- Registration is free of charge.
- To participate, you must complete the registration form by September 5th 2026.
- Registration will be considered complete once you have submitted all the required documentation attached to the form.
- Incomplete registrations won’t be considered.
About the selected projects
- Six projects will be selected.
- At least one representative of each selected project must be present during the event.
- The projects will participate in a Pitch preparation session.
- Once the preparation is complete, the projects will be presented in a Pitch session and will have a schedule of one-to-one meetings.
- Selected projects may receive awards to participate in international development and industry events.
- Those selected will have access to two accreditations to participate in Ventana Sur Río de la Plata 2026.
The selected projects will be contacted by email and will have 5 working days to confirm their participation.
