VENTANA SUR – CORTOS
VS-CORTOS is Ventana Sur’s industry platform dedicated to Latin American short films and to those who embrace this format as a space for creative freedom, innovation, and international projection.
Through its VS-CORTOS Finishing Programme, the section calls for Latin American short films in advanced post-production (picture lock) or already completed, with world premiere status available, to take part in a programme designed to strengthen their international distribution strategy and facilitate their access to the international festival and market circuit.
The programme provides a collaborative working environment where each project can develop and consolidate its international pathway through tailored mentorship, exclusive screenings for accredited industry professionals, one-to-one meetings with festival programmers, distributors and sales agents, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and awards presented by leading international partners.
More than a showcase, VS-CORTOS supports each film in defining a distribution strategy tailored to its specific profile, fostering meaningful connections with key players across the international audiovisual industry.

CONEXIONES
International Platform for Animated Short Film Projects
VS Animation! + VS Cortos | Ventana Sur 2026
CONEXIONES is a joint initiative by VS Animation! and VS Cortos, created to support Latin American animated short film projects in development and foster their integration into the international market.
Up to 4 projects will be selected to take part in an intensive industry experience during Ventana Sur 2026, designed to generate strategic connections and concrete opportunities to advance their development, financing, production, and international reach.
Who is it for?
CONEXIONES is aimed at Latin American producers and filmmakers with animated short film projects in development.
Projects using any animation technique may apply, provided they meet the following minimum requirements:
- Confirmed director.
- Confirmed producer.
- A developed screenplay of up to 12 pages and/or a complete storyboard.
Project dossier.
Priority will be given to projects that have reached a sufficient stage of development to benefit from an international market experience and are seeking partners, financing, or opportunities to move toward production.

TAILORED MEETING SCHEDULE
During Ventana Sur, each selected project will have a personalized schedule of professional meetings, designed according to its characteristics, needs, and objectives.
The meetings will aim to create connections with different players in the international industry in the following areas:
Co-production and Financing
Producers, animation studios, funds, institutions, and potential partners who can contribute to the project’s development, financing, and production.
Markets and Development Programs
Representatives from markets, labs, and other industry platforms that can offer new opportunities for development and international exposure.
International Circulation
Festivals, programmers, and specialized distributors to begin shaping the short film’s future international circulation strategy.
Market Prep
Ahead of Ventana Sur, the selected teams will take part in an online market preparation session, led by the coordinators of VS Animation! and VS Cortos.
The session will provide practical tools to define objectives, prepare the project presentation, identify relevant industry contacts, and make the most of meetings and networking opportunities during the market.
Industry Panel
During Ventana Sur, the selected projects will also participate in an open industry panel as part of the market’s official program.
The session will bring together international professionals to discuss opportunities and challenges related to the co-production, financing, development, and international circulation of animated short films.
