The Oscar Awards are the mecca for a huge sector of the film industry. We will go over the experiences of these two successful films in their way to the Oscars. The challenges of making an Oscar-winning independent film.

Rocío Jadue, Executive producer, Fabula, “Una Mujer Fantástica”

Rocío Jadue (Santiago de Chile, 1985) is a Chilean producer known for her work in the film “Una Mujer Fantástica” (2018), directed by Sebastián Lelio and starring Daniela Vega, winner of the Oscar in the Best Foreign Film category. Rocío’s career at Fabula began in 2012. To date, she has worked in a total of 13 films: among them, “Ema”, “Neruda” and “El Club”, premiered at Cannes, Berlin, Venice and Toronto. The most recent film is “Gloria Bell” (2019), starring Julianne Moore.

Muriel Cabeza, Executive producer, 100 Bares “El Secreto de sus Ojos”

She graduated in 1996 from Universidad del Cine with a degree in film directing. She developed her whole career in the production area. In 2005, she began working with Juan José Campanella and his team, as Head of Production in the blockbuster for television “Vientos de Agua”. In 2008, she directed the production for “The Secret in Their Eyes” and in 2009 she joined the production company 100 Bares as partner and producer, where she is still working today.

Executive Director of CinemaChile. In these years, the institution has been behind the successful positioning of Chile in the world as an exceptional cinematography. For Constanza “to promote is also to train” the sector to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the international market to the maximum. CinemaChile has been involved in multiple successful cases in recent years, like “A Fantastic Woman” by Sebastián Lelio, the first Chilean film to win an Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2018.
