How are new immersive technologies developed in different regions of Argentina. Advantages and disadvantages. Is it possible to develop them far away from big urban centers?

Cesar Turturro, Proyecto “Invasión2040”

Since his early years he began working in the audiovisual world, as a cameraman in cable shows and using the first post-production tools available in the market. Since 1996 until today, he has worked in the development of his own work pipeline which allowed him to finish “Invasion2040”, a sci-fi medium-length film with over 150 animation frames.

Claudio Grandinetti, “Patagonia360”

Currently in charge of Red De Medios, media network of the National University of Rio Negro, he develops strategies and projects based on emerging technologies. He directs the launch of the first multi-disciplinary studio in Patagonia focused on Immersive Production in the Audiovisual, Animation, VFX and Transmedia areas: IdeaLab. He has more than 28 years of experience as an audiovisual producer and designer for cinema, television, advertising and video games. He is an active member of ACM, Association for Computing Machinery / ACM SIGGRAPH and Motion Capture Society.

Micaela Celeste Urruty, Proyecto Corto 360 “Sol”,

Micaela Celeste Urruty was born in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, in 1991. She has a degree in Graphic Design and Audiovisual Communication, she is a filmmaker and entrepreneur. In the last 10 years she has worked creating graphic and audiovisual content for the independent group for drowning prevention “Si se puede evitar, no es un accidente – Playas Mar del Plata”. She has made short films, documentaries and features, participating in the different areas, from scriptwriting and art to direction.

Julia Tagger, “Solarians”

Juli Tagger studed Filmmaking and she has more than 20 years of experience in audiovisual media. Founder of MiTAD, for women in digital, audiovisual and technological industries. VR Programmer for the Bit Bang Fest. Member of the jury for Woman & Film. Director, producer and scriptwriter for Solarians, made in the context of the first Immersive Animation Workshop at Universidad del Cine. “Solarians Domefilm” will be premiered in December in the dome of the Galileo Galilei Planetarium of Buenos Aires.

In 2016, Gustavo Cavanna decided to take up a new challenge and founded the MorelVR studio, dedicated to generating interactive and immersive contents in Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, carrying out interactive projects for Fox Latin America, Disney Latin America and Grupo Clarín/TN among others, becoming one of the regional referents for this technology, not only in entertainment but also for the application of these new technologies in education.
